Bloodveld Slayer Guide

Slayer Icon OSRS Bloodveld Slayer Guide

Bloodvelds in OSRS require level 50 Slayer, and may be assigned by Vannaka, Chaeldar, Nieve or Duradel. With the addition of Catacombs of Kourend, you can also complete your task by killing Mutated Bloodvelds.

These monsters attack using magic-based melee. This means that while their attacks act as melee damage, a high magic defence will help mitigate some of the damage you receive. Alternatively, both forms of Bloodveld may be safespotted with Ranged.

World Map Location

Regular Bloodvelds may be found on the 2nd level of the Slayer Tower, Nieve’s Slayer Cave, and the Godwars Dungeon (inc. Wilderness). The easiest location for safespotting is Nieve’s Slayer Cave. You can use the walls of the area to hide out of reach of the Bloodvelds while attacking with Ranged. Safespots in the Slayer Tower include the chair in the northeastern corner of the main room, and using the various armor stands around the room.

Mutated Bloodvelds can only be found within the Catacombs of Kourend. Similar to Nieve’s safespot, you can easily use the narrow corridors and walls to your advantage for safespotting. We recommend that you complete your task here if possible. You’ll receive much better experience and loot. Note that lower levels should make use of safespots, unless you have the proper defensive gear, or are willing to pay extra for prayer potions.

Slayer Helmet Gear Guide

If you choose to melee your task, it is recommended to wear magic defence boosting gear. Using safespots will require that you use Ranged, so bring your best ranged gear. Alternatively, you can melee them and use the Protect from Melee (Protect from Melee) prayer.

Any gear set can be upgraded or downgraded depending on what you have access to. The following are the recommended general gearing setups.

Cannon Barrel Cannons may be used to speed up the task by a large amount, however the loot from Bloodvelds does not make this a very viable method unless you have extra gold to spend. Swap out your Berserker Ring for a Warrior Ring if you decide to use a cannon.

Coins Drop Table

Below are the drop tables for both Bloodvelds, and Mutated Bloodvelds. You can use this to help you determine which monster you’d rather kill, and get a rough estimate of how much loot you’ve receive. Most loot is basic, however it may be a good idea to bring high alchemy (High Alch) runes when killing Mutated Bloodvelds so that you don’t miss out on profit.
